Jezus is een Palestijn is een film over een jongen die toestemming krijgt de landbouwcommune, waarin hij zich al acht jaar onder sekte-achtige omstandigheden bevindt, te verlaten om zijn stervende vader op te zoeken. Eenmaal buiten de commune wordt de hoofdpersoon verliefd. Hij moet kiezen tussen het celibaat in de commune of het huwelijk daarbuiten. Niet gewend om zelfstandig keuzes te maken, roept hij de hulp in van een messias. De film is een parodie op de moderne mode-verschijnselen in de westerse cultuur. Verschillende thema's (euthanasie, spiritualiteit, zelfmutilatie) komen samen in een apocalyps in het jaar 2000, wanneer de Messias terugkomt in de gedaante van een Palestijn.
